I enjoy compitition and would be interested in trying to get in some of the international compitition if I knew which tournaments have a handicapable division. I have found that many tournaments officials do not consider us martial artist or consider us second rate martial artist. I would like to see a list published or possibly have a list sent to me of tournaments with handicapable divisions. There are a lot of good handicapable martial artist and athletes out there that deserve a chance to compete.
It makes me wonder if these tournament officials are afraid that we might beat the able bodied athletes. I would appreciate a list and who to contact about trying to get on some the teams. (Good Will Games ect)

I've been in martial arts since I can remember, I'm 24 years old now.
I've been contentrating these passed years on AIKIDO, I find it to be a very different martial art comparred to the others. Although I like any form of martial art, I concentrate on AIKIDO.
I've done other forms before, but I stopped full time training of these forms and started AIKIDO intensively about 6 years ago.
I've also read many books on phillosophies and martial arts. Reading about the founders about many arts e.g. Funakoshi, Gichin: the founder of Shotokan Karate and of Bruce Lee ofcourse, Sun Tzu,
Chuck Norris, Lao Tzu, Kwai Koo Tzu,Ueshiba,Morihei: the founder of AIKIDO, Musashi, Myamoto etc.
My attention I must say goes to Take Shigemichi Sensei, this is the Japanese name of Steven Seagal. This man is an incredible man and you can read a lot about him on the net.
I focus on the personal growth one gets from the martial arts rather than the physical ones and have learned a lot from them.
Ofcourse is having the ability of doing all those things is good, but the Phillosophy of the arts is great and the knowledge is so extensive that one can go on learning for as long as one lives.

College of New Jersey, where I am the President of the Organization of
Martial Sciences. Our main goal is the promotion of martial arts to
the general public who have extreme intrest but extansive disbelief.
Many of the students here look at what is seen on television and take
that for a Hollywood theatrical trick and not for what it really is.
We are here studying various styles of martial arts and gaining insight
to the science of these styles.
We are entering open tournaments all throughout the state and are
looking to compete nationwide. One problem that we are running into
is that as a school club there is no division in which we can set
scheduled tournaments for us to compete. It is my dream as well as
my teacher's to build a division that will allow all martial arts
club/sport organizations to fall under and interact as well as learn
from one another while compeing. It is our understanding that martial
arts is not just a competing lifestyle but that of a growing and
developing nature.
I am looking for any advice, help, or assistance that will aid in
our cause. I am also looking to attain sponsors and founding members

division for the furtherment of collegiate martial arts and the building

Found you guys from a link on Degerberg Martial Arts Homepage. I've been searching a LOOOONG time for the right school to begin training. I read quite a bit on any subject concerning martial arts, Eastern philosophy, Bruce Lee, and anything else I can get my hands on. I like to do things right the first time and don't want to keep joining and quitting schools. There have been a couple of schools I think I could really enjoy and meet 'my criteria' except distance. They're too far away. I need a place to go everyday. I've been partying the past couple of years and am sincerely ready to begin my training- serious training. I'm 25 years old and consider myself 'on the path to enlightenment'. My question is "Should I remain patient and continue to grow spiritually and find the right school for me?" or am I just wasting valuable time? I'm interested in a lot of styles certain Kung-Fu styles, Aikido, Kali, Thai boxing, Bushido(?), and Ninjitsu are a few.

It gets very boring not having knowledgable, fellow instructors to talk to. I taught at a sportsclub for 8 years...Tae kwon do & boxing. It seems you get the extremes at both ends when you teach and when you surf the net...some individuals are great and honor the art, while others are an embarassment and seem to really need good intruction so they can mature emotionally and spiritually. of Martial Arts in Jackson, AL. with my partner/father Lonnie Moore who is
a first Dan and my brother, Lonnie,Jr. who is a Second Dan. We have a first
degree jujitsu black belt on our staff, also and emphasise a mixing of teachings
from all the arts. Our base style is ChunDoKwan TaeKwon-Do and that is what we rank
our students in but we teach that there is no best style, you're only as good
as the effort you put into what you do! We rank through AIKIA because they are
the only orginization we found that allows our train of thought about the
mixing of styles. This year in the Alabama State Circuit we garnered seven state
titles, this from a small school,about 40 students, in a small town and in only
our second year since we opened the school under our management.
